My friend is mental, literally

Just a random vent/ramble, long post.

So, I've got a friend were pretty close and have been for a long time now, we are both not the most mentally stable people in the world and we somewhat bonded over that. My senior prom (their junior) was 2 days ago and I lovedddd it, me and my bf went on a date after and hung out for a bit. 

My friend however did not, and it is apparently all my fault. He told me, "You did a really shity thing and that wasn't cool, you said you wanted to hang out after prom." when I said I'll have to see what my bf would like to do. They said I made them feel unwanted and uncared for just bc they don't have a bf, and that the only way they could be included would be if they had a bf. They called me shity in front of a mutual friend and said I made them cry all night long and the whole way home from prom. 

It is important to note that I found out through the mutual friend that they have had a "crush" on me for too long of a time. 

Honestly, I was so baffled at what they were saying bc I made them no promises and let them know I would most likely hang out with my bf. Prom is for couples, not couples and friend, I go to prom to be a couple with my bf and not for you.
