how do i beat roped off apartments in cry of fear?

i basically softlocked myself. i have no ammo and got close to beating it once but the faceless after you fall through the floor got me, idk what to do
i cant go back very far since i overwritten my old saves (pain) (i didnt have much ammo there either, i tried using less but ended up struggling to deal with stranger so i used it up) i also tried doing the thing where you make the faceless run into the big head guy and that worked a little but i ended up dying each time
what should i do? is there any way to continue with the game? i think after this section you fight with sick simon and you need ammo to beat him so i dont think i can beat the game either way
