I HATE social media.
My best friend and I decided to get flip phones because we realized we were too hooked on our smartphones, so now I use my computer more to visit sites like Spacehey and YouTube, and I also dedicate more time to reading! I feel like I’m rediscovering music; I love uncovering new tracks, and I find myself just enjoying music without any distractions. I now have significantly more time for the activities I genuinely love.
I already knew that I disliked social media, but since I stopped using my phone, I've come to see it as simply noise. Sharing on it feels like a performance; in reality, most people don't really care about the lives of their mutuals. I HAVE NO INTEREST IN THE LIVES OF MY MUTUALS (aside from my close friends).
I've realized that every time I return to check for updates, I'm left disappointed because it's always the same posts and the same stories—nothing feels exciting anymore on social media.
In French, there's a phrase I appreciate: "la culture du vide," which translates to "the culture of the void." It refers to something that lacks value and fails to provide any learning, such as reality television shows etc...
I wish that I could have lived in the 2000s... :( They had the perfect amount of technology. Internet was just a place you could explore with limited time.
PLZ CAN WE ALL JUST SWITCH TO FLIP PHONES AND STOP BEING ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA TT

omg fr!! I miss when the internet was only accessible by those big ass family computers that were so slow you had to wait 5 minutes just to load a single youtube video xd
Like, it was so much better because it was just an occasional activity that brought joy. Now the internet is everywhere, it became a necessity :(
If everyone just collectively decided to bring this back, life would feel like the 2000s again. But we can only dream I guess... TT
oh my, SO REAL ! Now you need internet for everything (im exaggerating) but for exemple those restaurants that give you the menu thru a QR CODE ... -_-
that's why we need to do a propaganda for flip phones !!! XD

this is honestly exactly how i feel about social media, yet i can't let go of it. i try to deactivate for a few weeks and it works but then i end up redownloading it and getting sucked into the mindless content void sigh.

no bc its exactly the same for me ! I sometimes go check my socials on my computer and end up scrolling :/ I don't scroll for a whole hour (bc it is really not convenient), but I wish we could all deactivate our accounts haha x)
