Y2K clothes

I had a discussion with someone on the networks and I'd like to hear other people's opinions. She said that if you buy clothes in stores or online you can't say that your style is Y2K. I know that buying second-hand clothes is part of style but personally I can't afford to always buy second-hand clothes because they're often not my size for example. In some places there's no second-hand market. Sometimes I take old clothes from people in my family, but sometimes I have no choice to buy fast fashion.

I'd like to know what you think.
