cleaning my room


    ✨end of day one of trying to Get My Life Together (After 2 Years of Bed Rotting in a Biohazard Room)✨

Well… today was a beautiful disaster. The goal was clean, but let’s just say we ended up somewhere between "mildly less chaotic" and "honestly, who needs a clean room when you have an inner monologue that sounds like an inspirational podcast?"

I’ll be real: Day 1 was a huge flex in comparison. We got three forks off the floor, and that was the highlight. Not much else was accomplished in terms of actual cleaning. Did I try to pick up 10 things off the floor? Technically yes, but then I found another sock and it spiraled into a 10-minute debate with myself about how long socks should actually survive the laundry cycle before being discarded. (Like, honestly, who needs three mismatched socks at this point?).

BUT, let’s talk about progress. Growth. Not everything went according to plan, and that’s okay.

🧼 THE PLAN (for tomorrow—don’t laugh, we’re keeping the dream alive):

  • Pick up 10 things off the floor. Again. One day it’ll actually happen.

  • Open a window and let the fresh air in (we’re doing this for the vibe, the air quality, and the non-sentient mold’s self-esteem).

  • Actually attempt to throw away cups this time. It’s a high-stakes operation, but I’m mentally preparing for it.

  • Blast music to summon whatever energy I can find (today’s playlist: a mess of 2010s indie bangers and Taylor Swift’s "All Too Well" because I’m feeling dramatic).

  • Wipe down a surface, and when I say wipe, I mean splash water around aimlessly like I’m cleaning.

  • Take a shower where I emerge from it like a moth that had one too many rough nights.

🌀 THINGS I ACTUALLY DID TODAY:

  • Took a nap. Because sometimes self-care is just lying down with your thoughts.

  • Opened a window, stared at the sky, then immediately closed it because of the sunlight. The struggle is real, y’all.

  • Ate a real meal. Like, real real. It had actual vegetables in it. I didn’t even burn it.

  • Did not scroll for 6 hours. Did I scroll for 3? Yes. But less than yesterday, so… improvement?

  • Did think about the emotional support cups and almost tossed one. But I got distracted by a spiderweb in the corner and lost all focus.

So, yeah. Full room cleaning? Not today. But that’s okay. Failure is just a pit stop on the road to success, right? Right. I mean, it feels pretty much the same as yesterday, but that's the beauty of being on the journey. Baby steps, dramatic stumbles, and just a little bit of progress is still progress.

Tomorrow? We’re trying again. Maybe we’ll do better, maybe we won’t, but either way, we’re keeping the vibe of let’s fail gloriously going strong.

So if you’re still rotting in your bed with a mold colony giving you side-eye, this is your reminder: we’re in this together. Even if we only got three forks off the floor, it’s still better than nothing. And nothing is where we were last week. 💀🪩

💌 End of day one, bunny out. Again. But we’re making it happen. Just slowly.
