I finally got my layout under control, script isn't as messy now. some of the things i had to make myself, like the cursor, the little harlequin or jester gif, and the backgrounds. Love all of it. Now why i said harlequin or jester gif is because it's hard to tell harlequins and jesters apart because the outfits are usually very similar to each others. But i'd like to say that the gif is a jester due to the lack of the mask. Harlequins are often represented wearing masks while jesters are represented without the mask. In modern depictions jesters have clown make up on, older paintings prove other wise. But who knows. Did you know that jester hats were actually supposed to represent donkey ears?
Look. This is originally a drawing of God, king David, and a jester. Though i could only find this picture which has God cropped out. But focus on the hat, look at that silly little hat. This picture actually comes from Psalter of Charles the Bald, or in latin; Psalterium Caroli Calvi. Now i won't go on a rant about that. Anyways, about the hat. Under the era when they wore this model of hat, they typically shaved the head of the jester. Towards the later medieval period, jester's began wearing a monk's cowl over their head which fell over their shoulder, giving them a comical look. By the late medieval period, a standard type of hat, called "the fools hat" had become popular among court jesters. This type of hat was comprised of three points protruding from different directions with a bell attached to each point so that the hat would jingle whenever the jester bobbed his head.
anyways. i'll stop ranting now.
