Twin Peaks thoughts (pls no spoilers)

So im currently rewatching Twin Peaks (i watched it a long time ago and forgot most of the story so please no spoilers im while writting this watching episode 5: One armed man) and i just like the way this story depicts liek the desperation for connection in such a small place. Like all of these people within such a small town almost all of them are cheaters and unfaithful. It's like really cool to see the interpersonal relationships. like a small town you usually picture a place where everyone knows everyone and everyone--for the most part-- get along. but TP like switches this on its head and creates this town where people are desperate, lustful and like honestly terrible to one another and they cheat and back stab eachother for their own benefit. It's just really cool to see like this subversion of like your internal, preconceived notions about what a 'small' town is.
