Did I mess up?

I had this friend. His name was Maurice. I cut him off/ ghosted him because he kept overstepping my boundaries even after I talked to him about it. I've never been this close to a person before. He really jus gets me and was always having the same high energy as me. He would always check up on me when he knew I was in a depressive episode, and I don't know it got me thinking. I had a dream about him (nothing romantical) but when I woke up, I remembered how happy I felt when we were friends. I started to somewhat regret how quick I cut him off. At the same time, I wanna stand on business but, that was my friend. That was my brother. He really meant something to me. If I got a phone call right now saying he was in trouble I'd drop everything and go to him. We're in the same friend group and I'm hoping to maybe make up next time we all hang out. (we haven't talked in weeks btw).

I don't know, what should I do?

i think that whilst it's perfectly valid you'd want to become his friend again, you should definitely have a conversation with him discussing your boundaries so that he knows not to overstep in the future!

Crossing your boundaries is pretty bad, and it's something he should accept. But hey, if you really value that friendship, you can talk to him again and see how it all turns out. Still, no matter how nice the friendship is, if he crosses your boundaries again and can't accept a "no," there's something you should be aware of and pay attention to. Friendships grow, though, and if he truly values you as a friend and understands, everything might turn out all right.
