GENERAL TIPS:
You may be new to the game, and that's why I'm offering some GENERAL TIPS that you SHOULD VERY MUCH KNOW.

gameplay tips/tricks: you can press Y to check how much ammo is in your gun. you need to press t to rack your gun before you can shoot it(when reloading, press r and then t when it's done). You can also press left ctrl to sprint!! always aim for the head, it's a 1-2 shot kill that way. As Killer, killing players adds time to the timer, so you have more time to kill. You can lock certain doors, just pay attention to doors for any locks. You can shoot through locked doors, and shooting the handles breaks the door.

BYSTANDER:
When playing as a bystander, grab a weapon. It should be your first priority when a game starts, but if you can't find one- that's okay! Having a weapon on you increases your odds of survival and allows you to stun the killer when you need to run away! It can also help for protecting others :)

Another thing, pay attention to other players. A player could seem innocent at first, but as soon as you turn your back, shoots you! trust no one and always keep an eye out for any suspicious behavior.

Make sure to communicate with your friends! If you saw the killer, tell everyone who it is and where you saw them. Avoid the killer at all costs- in some maps you can lock certain doors so use that to your advantage when trying to win a chase!

VIGILANTE:
When playing as a vigilante, do not reveal your gun. It may seem tempting, but it makes you an easy target for a concealed killer. It's better for you to observe other players and rule out who's who. You can tell when someone is innocent based off of a couple of things:

• if they're completing tasks(easier tasks to spot are things like fixing generators and doing laundry)
• how often they're moving between rooms(people tend to wait a little before moving rooms, especially when doing tasks- killers don't always wait!)
• if they're following you or try to be in a room alone with you (this may seem arbitrary but killers will often try to get their first victim alone- don't let yourself fall for it!)

It's also important to not make it obvious that you're watching everyone. Do your tasks! Don't stick yourself in a corner and stare at everyone. Another helpful tip is to also grab a weapon! You may have your gun, but being able to stun a killer before they shoot you might just save your life! More on your gun- know your guns. Some guns need to be racked before they can shoot, while others don't. You don't want to get caught in front of the killer with an unracked gun- cuz you'll die lol.

KILLER:

STEALTH: Do your best to fit in with the other bystanders. Don't run around the map looking for who fits your profile- do your tasks! Narrow it down. Joking around a little bit with other players works too(i.e chatting, dancing, crouch canceling) because they make you appear more friendly. Try to get your target alone. After you shoot try to hide your gun and blend back in with everyone else! Leave the body immediately, it helps if you have a weapon equipped to really sell your "innocence".

AGGRESSIVE: If you want a killing spree- check what kind of gun you have before you start killing. This will affect your approach when trying to kill a large amount of players. If you have something like the Rosen-Obrez(rifle) or the Sawn-Off(shotgun) you're gonna have to cope with slower shooting and less bullets in exchange for higher damage. If you have something like the Kamatov(pistol) or MAK-11(submachine gun) you'll have to cope with faster shooting + more bullets but less damage.

Most importantly though, no matter your playstyle- don't wait to long to start killing! Caution is good, but nothing is more embarrassing than losing the match to lost time. If you don't know when to start, and time is running low- just pick somewhere to start AND START KILLING.
