do you ever dream
when you look up at the stars
and wonder where everything went wrong?
every tear that's soaked your pillow,
the muffled cries that you wonder if your sister can hear?
the demons in your head
filled with rage
screaming and demanding to interact with the outer world
spewing venom every time you part your chapped lips
and you wonder why no one likes you
or talks to you
when the sun sets
and you're left with the sky
looking up for the first time
and feeling hope for once in your life
each inhale of the crisp night air
giving life and energy to your hopes and dreams again
it's an overwhelming feeling
the demons are silentÂ
and you're left
dreaming about what life could be like.
