Faith Over Works.

  For this entry I wanted to bring up the struggle of going to heaven and good works. And to bring up how you can't get into heaven based on good deeds and actions alone. 

God says in the day of judgment there will be people who fasted, gave to the poor, and did many good works. But he will say, ''Depart from me for I never knew you.'' And they will exclaim, ''Why Lord I did all of these things in your name!'' But we forget that the reason why you (the reader) and I (the writer) will go to heaven is because Jesus paid the debt of our sins. But the lie the Devil will push is that the way to heaven is through good works, that we're not good enough so we have to consistently ''Prove ourselves'' to God so that we may have salvation. Good works CANNOT and WILL NOT save you. The way to the lord is through Faith! And through our Faith he will change and transform us so that HE can work through us. God says, ''Submit to me and I work through you.'' Again, the Gospel says that works are MEANINGLESS without faith, even more saying good works without faith are dead. So don't think God's disappointed in you because you don't do good works every single day, focus on your faith and Jesus will do the rest :)

(also, this is in no way me saying to stop trying to do good works in general but more so to not stress and idolize those good works over God and keeping your faith strong!)
