i wanna join orchestra/band next school year but the only prior music-related extracurricular i did was choir. that was 3rd grade. i want 2 play trombone or some brass instrument but i have near no knowledge on trombone besides the 3 tutorials i watched on yt (i dont even own a trombone). i think one of my friend's band members' taught them how to play their instrument, but is that common across most schools? would it be a burden for them to teach me or anything? should i just learn beforehand?

would i be able to join band?

It's a school so there their to teach ya, but it's also good to hone your skills on your own so you won't grow rusty. But don't EVER feel like a burden in stuff like this, they don't expect you to BE the next Mozart or something, they expect you to show that you have the Drive to continue on in music.
I'm pretty bad at Music but I'm still taking the class since i love it, in an art school too. If you like it, you should try it, Good luck man srs‼️🌟
(Btw, which instruments did you play again? I forgot what your thingie said)
thanks!! im not actively playing any instruments at the moment because i get bored quite quickly but i have practiced piano, acoustic guitar, and was in choir in 3rd grade. next school year or the one after that im thinking about joining band and want to play the trombone
