Entry 33 || Absurdity

The following are questions that make me contemplate on the endless absurdity of *my* environment's social norms and systems. I'll probably add to this over time.
I do understand the possibility of some of these questions being unapplicable to certain scenarios, as well as the possibility of these questions simply being my personal beliefs manifesting into a worldview that I perceive to be most preferable.

1. This isn't a question about Christianity's core beliefs and values; it's a question for the way society practices it nowadays. What is Christianity really about these days? The devotion and worship? The desire to have a satisfactory afterlife in heaven? If so, where and when do the teachings of selflessness and "the act of goodwill" apply?

2. What's the point of self-awareness if one does nothing but wallow about what they're aware of?

3. Why is the most common reason for wanting to help others the reason of wanting to become a better person? Although I understand one can help others and themselves in the process, why does becoming a better person usually the first priority?

4. Why do people make such big talk about offering emotional validation and acceptance to others, whether problems are big or small, yet feel a sense of condescension and irritation when someone complains about a seemingly little thing? I say "seemingly" because of the tendency for people to perceive problems as a "little thing" if they've personally felt or experienced worse, so what's all that talk about "being understanding of other's capabilities and emotional strengths"?

5. Why do people perceive close loved ones as their personal "life support" rather than their complement? Why are sayings such as, "you're the one" or "you're the reason why I live" or "you're everything to me" or "you're the missing piece to my heart" so glorified? Don't people understand the repetitiveness and emptiness within those words?

6. Why do some people pretend to be so angelic and pure when they're well aware of devious acts they've probably done? And when somebody's exposed to have done devious acts, the same people point and laugh? Aren't you just laughing at yourself?

7. The same people who make big talk about accepting each other's differences are the same people avoiding to confront or accept these differences. What's all that about?

8. Why do some people make big talk about understanding one another, yet make immediate judgements? Say, there's a fight between two people. Why are people suddenly enforced to take a side, believing that simply siding would fix the problem rather than taking the time to understand where both sides come from? Do situations like this always have to be a black and white situation?

9. Am I making any sense?
