Hello everyone!
kweenbimb on the other line
This blog is a little more chill compared to my other ones, but still very interesting, because it’s about coding!! (which I assume is a common interest between all spacehey)
Recently I started coding my Neocities website and although I kinda shifted focus on spacehey, I will prioritize Neocities more.
Right now I’m coding my Blog page and I almost finished my Home page! (but I do plan to remake it more to my liking in future)
Coding was SO hard for me to understand, mostly because I didn’t understand how people place things and layouts where they want. However what helped me most was W3Schools (which I HIGHLY recommend if you’re starting out in coding, just like me), which taught me about padding and my life saviour — z-index.
Z-index is the love of my life, my saviour, MY MESSIAH. If you want a a fun profile where you have a custom layout, you NEED to know z-index. I recommend looking up tutorials on it and tbh it won’t take you much time and will totally be worth it.
Also for my starting out coders, I recommend to not make a fully fleshed website on your own. Use layouts, resources, tutorials and learn how to code the best and the most comfortable way.
One thing that really confused me was using different layouts to code different pages. Every layout creator has their own way of organizing a code, so each time i tried a new layout the code was more and more complicated or strangely arranged. That’s why I would recommend finding one layout creator and studying their code, so that you won’t be in the same situation as I was.
Also I recommend getting an inspo and if possible, asking the creator of the website for tips. Most of people on Neocities are very talented and nice people, so I think you won’t have a problem with reaching out.
And that’s it for now! Although if you guys have tips on how to move boxes, I will greatly appreciate it :)
