hi!! so lately i’ve been getting super interested in visual kei and i think it’s sooo cool.
i only really know like two songs right now Ma Chérie by Malice Mizer and Kuuchuu Buranko by Plastic Tree. i love both of them a lot, they’re so different but both really pretty in their own way.
but the thing is… i don’t really know any other bands yet lol. i really wanna get into more groups but i don’t know where to start because there’s sooo many and it’s kinda overwhelming.
if you know any good visual kei bands (or even just songs) that you think i should listen to, pls tell me!! i’d love if you could say the band and a specific song you like, so i know where to start. i feel like listening to the right songs first can really make you fall in love with a band haha.
also if you have any fav albums or live performances that are cool, you can tell me too!!
i’m super excited to find more stuff to listen to, visual kei just has such a cool vibe. the outfits, the music, the emotions everything is just so extra and i love it.

Hello! I'd love to give some recommendations.
I sorted it through the three eras. There isn't much for the first one, because it's not very 'conventional' and lots of people don't enjoy Tetsu's singing, but if you like it, it's deffo worth looking into! (Also if you'd like to know more about Malice Mizer I AM HERE!!!! 👅 I don't want to start Infodumping now because it's gonna take up all the space)
I am a huuge Malice Mizer fan and love basically all of their songs, but some of my more popular favourites are:

Some other bands I loove are DADAROMA and BUCK-TICK (why is there so much in caps oml)
They're pretty different with DADAROMA being newer and having more of a metal sound. A good 'basic' song by them is Risley Circus!! Masturbation is also really good, as well as Toxurira!!!
They are part of the V-Kei subgenres Art Kei and Loud Key!!
BUCK-TICK is so awesome. ARHHHG!!!!, but yesss
I recommend SPEED!!!! I love SPEED!!! it is so good. Literally. Some other great songs are Dress, Jupiter and Just One More Kiss!
I don't have much to say about them because I'm not that deep into the band, but seriously, try them out. Their music videos and performances(!) are phenomenal. So awesome.
Okay I remembered like my second favourite V-Kei band what the HELL!! SHAZNA!!!!! Shazna is cool! It has a more happy and nostalgic sound, going into a pop direction.
You could try out Raspberry Time, Melty Love, Sumire September Love and White Silent Night! It's a Christmas song but whateverrr

Honey Vanity by Közi (malice mizer guitarist)
Vanilla by Gackt (there's a single version, and one from the Album MARS. I low-key prefer the Mars version, but that's mostly because the single one has a woman moaning in the middle of it and the instrumental is a bit different, but they're both pretty good)
