stupid questions

When uploading an image, in the URL box, does it have to be a http link, or do https links also work?

Why doesn't it work to put a header in the URL box like, <img srce="link"/> ?

I can't get a link to be http, no matter if its in google photos or downloaded on my computer or anything...
