Its been like a month now since i deleted all my Social media that was left and ngl i feel a little bit more free than before... Instagram was like the only thing that was left but i realised i had a rlly bad case of fomo and literally could only think about those funny brain rot vids all day on repeat...
I originally made them to share my art but after a while i started counting likes and it wasnt fun anymore... i never thought about what i wanted to draw but more of whats trendy and cool rn...
Do you guys have a similar feeling while using social media apps or is it actually fun?

True that.
Luckily the hardest part of changing these bad habits is to simply push yourself into doing something else other than staring at a screen. Also to minimize wasting time, maybe you could post your art on a website that's dedicated to this specific hobby/job and not a platform that generalizes everything to the point it becomes a slop.
The way I see it, managing time is a skill that reveals people who are competent and determined to not neglect any necessary/healthy activities.
Well it's metaphorically a skill because in today's age, many are lacking it. It's a must-have!

I deleted TikTok in January and I already feel so much better from that. I would spend up to 4 hours a day stuck doomscrolling, it was awful. After I deleted it, I had FOMO for a while, but it eventually subsided over time.
I still have other apps like Instagram and Reddit which I use a lot more now, but I don't find myself nearly as trapped in them as I was when I had TikTok (though I do get caught doomscrolling Reddit from time-to-time).
I'm really trying to build myself up to deleting the rest of my social media, but it's hard. Especially since Reddit added that stupid daily login streak to the app, so now I feel like I “can't delete it” because then my streak will be broken, and I hate it. I hate feeling obligated to a streak that doesn't matter. :/
so real... doomscrolling was my biggest problem aswell.
its rlly hard to overcome like an addiction so im glad you deleted tiktok.
And stuff like daily log ins are so evil since its just made so people get hooked to it

I kept discord so that I can talk directly to dedicated groups of people about things I'm specifically interested in talking about but everything else I got rid of. No scrolling, no posts, no likes. I started getting a bad feeling in my brain when I was on social media so I cut myself off all at once, had FOMO for like a week and started drawing, reading and writing to fill the time, which feels way better and it's way to not need my phone after like half a year of this.
having hobbies like that is sooo much better fr since it keeps your brain happy while also thinking instead of just mindlessly watching stuff. but yea since we cant find people with niche interests in real life joining a community in discord is a nice way to find some people

kanka dehset haklisin. ben de kullanmayali uc bes ayi gecmistir. bazen webden giriyorum sadece o da max 3 dakika duruyo. gercekten beyni olduren bir yapisi var sosyal medyanin yani kaydirmadan furamiyorsun. ozellikle sinav senemde olccugum icin zaten en basindan hic kullanmadigim seyleri tamamrn birsktim. dopamin sistemlerini yikio geciyo hormonlari bozuyor. en iyisini yapmissin devam et bence. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

No cuz this is so real I've been wanting to delete all my socials too but like..I'm too attached idk man I cant work up the courage to do so but I've been trying to like use it less? Ig but anywya wait i forgot what u said but maybe after this I'll like delete it too cuz it's overwhelming and draining
I believe that because ive gone trough that also for like 3 years T_T... but if you dont want to delete to right away and just want to see if you feel better with only less screentime there are many apps that track your time and close the app after! Or maybe you can just like open it on specific days like saturday sunday u know like a challenge... i hope this helps and it will get better... I believe you can overcome it too! ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻)
