Hii everyone! Yesterday I visited wildlife park and thought I'd share it as my first blog entry. Throughout my trip I took tons of pictures, so I'll make sure to add as many of the as possible.
The park was pretty big and there was plenty space to walk around and explore. There were multiple maps places throughout the park, which were really handy, as well as online map.
Selection of animals wasn't the brightest but also not the worst. There was a wide range of birds and mammals, but strangely no aquatic animals or reptiles. Also!!! No butterfly zone, which was kinda disappointing for me.
LORD was there a lot of greenery. The park was really beautiful, surrounded with lots of free space of just big plain grass fields, as well as large gardens with many exotic flowers. Big, not even big, MASSIVE trees filled in the area, which was such a nice thing to see. Honestly, I'd say plants were one of positives there.
Oh my gawdd, the farm animals were and always will be my everything. There wasn't much of them, but you could pet a few like goats, ponies and donkies, AND IT WAS HEAVENNN. If you ever plan on going into any park or zoo in general, make sure there's a petting area, i promise its the best thing ever.
UHhh, I wanna touch on the food they were serving a little, cuz after all that walking, you gotta eat smth good. I gotta say, the food was genuinely mid, which wasn't the biggest surprise to me, but still it was pretty disappointing. The thing that I despise british ppl doing, and its not just this park specifically, but in general, is that they DO NOT salt their pasta and rice. Its such a big icky no no to me, because I was always raised on the most salted pasta ever, and seeing all the food here not being salted is so painful. I do have a guess that they don't salt their food, cuz they expect you to add a sauce to it, BUT WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. Like, I'm a very picky eater and I don't like putting sauces onto anything, so this whole thing pmo.
ANYWAYS, enough about my food preferences. This wasn't the only issue I had with the cafeteria. The place was genuinely dirty and I'm a person who's all for sanitary conditions like in surgery, ESPECIALLY somewhere you eat. So I wasn't the happiest when I found myself in a literal food chaos. It bugged me off, when forks and other appliances were at a specific stand, like go grab them themselves, because its a big sign they don't wash these things properly. Also, when you grab your food, you cannot grab these things separately, you have to have a meal, which forces you to pay like extra £5 for the thing you don't even wanna eat.
I rate the cafeteria 5/10, messy and mid.
Okay, time to talk about the conditions the animals were kept in. To be honest, I'm not the expert in these things, so make sure if I'm wrong or not, but some of these animals had little to none space, despite the park being so big. LIKE PENGUINS FOR EXAMPLE. They had like this one little area with a crusty dusty pool and a little mountain. Just so you know, I travel A LOT, and my family visits lots of zoos on our travels. I saw such better conditions for penguins and there also weren't many of them either. It was like what, 8 penguins?? Aren't they supposed to be in big groups, like in their natural habitat?
And its not solely penguins. Lots of mice was in really poor conditions for me. They were kept there like hamsters, not like actual animals in their natural habitat.
Some animals like rhinos, wolves and lions had a lot of space dedicated to them, which they totally should have lots of that space. But I felt that the rhinos territory was a little bland, as they was only plain grass.
One of the positives was for sure the train. They had like the cutest kids train that would go around all the main parts of the park and it was SO FUN. I love these little train thingies they make me happy.
On the other hand, there wasn't much toilets, and those that were there, were like hella dirty. AND THERE WASN'T ANY MIRRORS, which is such a crucial part to any good restroom.
The best area in my opinion was the capybara and anteater area. These bitches had so much space dedicated to them and there were lots of birds and plants around, which made 100 times better.
What I did not like though, was how peacocks were freely walking around the cafeteria area. I'll explain why. There were tons of kids there and they would chase the animals and feed them crisps and other ungodly things, which is obviously not good for the animal's diet. The parents of these kids did not help either. They would just sit there and laugh, even though the animals were in stress.
Also about cafeteria. There was this GIANTT playground for kids and so you know, I love to see these. It was this massive climbing area, with swings and slides and other fun thingies you could do.
Okay, I think its time to wrap around this already awfully long blog post, so I'll just add this. If you wanna have a fun time with your family, then this place is alright. I'd rate it 7/10. But to be honest, you could find something at least a little bit better.
Sending lots of love XXX
