Mini Disc is such a cool format.
Back in 2023 I believe, I found a MiniDisc player at a thrift store for 5 bucks. It came with a single disc, and was in fantastic condition. Still one of my coolest finds.
Then, a little later, I found out that one of my favorite artists (the scary jokes) was selling their music on MiniDisc at the time. I buy it, and turns out I got the last copy they had in stock. It feels so cool to own something like that.
Unfortunately, I was unable to get their other album since it was already sold out. Thankfully, the player that I own is also a recorder! I was able to wipe the disc (after using Shazam to make sure it wasn't some kind of home demo that's never been released before) and record the other album over. It's pretty awesome!

Jam a UMD in the player and see what happens

You're smart for checking if the music on the disc was existant or not, I would've just wiped it without a second thought LOL.
