catfish

i can't believe i forgot to make a post about this but like 2-3 days ago i met some guy on here named "blake". 

he seemed cool and whatever and had like 1k friends so i was a bit shocked when he friended me back. we liked a lot of the same stuff so i was just like fuck!! new cool friend!! hooray!! 

we got on well and stuff and dmed each other a lot but then he was like "hey i actually hate instant messenger so would you rather talk somewhere else?" he mentioned something about how other apps dont work for him or whatever so we exchanged numbers and kept texting on imessage. it wasnt that weird for me at the time bc sometimes it is what it is n junk

i told him more about myself and was sure to mention the fact that i have a boyfriend and im not cool with sexual/flirtatious jokes from strangers. i made it VERY CLEAR. he said he understood and that was that, we kept talking very friendly.

the next day and shit was normal until he made a very tasteless attempt at a pickup line basically asking me if i wanted to have sex with him ?!?!?!?

i tried to be very polite about it but after showing it to my friends and discussing it, we all agreed that it was not only strange but rude as fuck to just ignore what i had said the day before. 

heres the fun bit:

i showed them his alleged "selfie" that he sent me and!!! ive never seen a reverse image search with that many results!!!

most from tumblr and pinterest, tagged with words like "emo bf, cute emo boy, emo haircuts" LOLLLL

so i imagine "blake" looked up "emo boy" on pinterest and grabbed the first thing he saw. jesus ;[

i looked through his profile again for more red flags and somehow didnt catch that his alleged age was at the very bottom?

24!

HUH???

mind you, im 18 years old, and its right there loud and proud on my profile. its like the first thing you see... 

now, i do think an 18 year old and a 24 year old could be chums online as long as its not weird, but... flirting?... -_o we are at two completely different stages of life sir!!! 

all that set off major alarms so ofc, i blocked his number and his profile, and reported it too. even the name "blake" sounded real made up (._.)

i really do wonder who "blake" actually is. an old weirdo, a little kid, or someone whos just insecure about themselves? or maybe a troll i dunno

im just glad it didn't escalate or go on for long enough for me to feel betrayed. i only feel kinda stupid i didnt do a double take when he sent me that selfie.

tldr; dont fall for catfishes guys!! especially not ones dumb enough to get their photos from pinterest
