dream diary #1, the museum [24-apr-25]

I'm writing down the dream I just had so I dont forget it. I don't often have dreams and I really liked this one. I'm trying to write down my thoughts as fast as possible so I can go back to sleep, I'll edit this post and correct mistakes later.

I was really hungry. My parents were outside doing errands, so I asked them if they could buy me something from the kebab place nearby, but for some reason they couldn't / for some reason I decided to get the kebab myself.

I'm walking down my street and meet my parents. We decide to hang out together. Everything up until now took place in Vienna, where I live now. But after this interaction we're transported to Montevideo (Uruguay) as "tourists" visiting their homeland.
We continue walking, planning which historical monument we should visit, until my mom stops at an old looking aparment complex (or maybe it was an office building?). She says she needs to do some paperwork with some guy I don't know. My dad tells me we can continue walking and that we'll see my mom later, but I decide that we should go with my mom. I was curious who the guy was.

We're now climbing up the stairs, which remind me of the chaotic layout of a Moldovan mall I went to. The room would look abandoned if it weren't for the few lights allowing us to see the dirty white walls. I'm the first to spot a man. Writing this part makes me sad because I remember almost nothing about his appearance, which I'm sure I knew at some point. I only remember that he was wearing a lab coat and maybe had glasses. Anyways, my parents are very happy to see their old friend again (who might have been a friend of my grandpa?). We follow him and reach a more well kept area: a museum!! There's many books, dinosaur skeletons and paintings. The place is empty even though it's very well put together. The man points to some hieroglyphs hanged up one the wall (though I remember them looking more like hebrew) and tells me some fun facts. Then he points to a paiting of various animals and asks me which animal from that class is my favorite. I don't remember my answer not what class he was talking again. Then, he asks me the same question while pointing at a painting of mammals. I wanted to say synapsids, until I remembered that they're not mammals, but their ancestors, so it took me a while to answer. I forgot what my actual answer was, or if I even answered at all.

I don't remember why, but my dad and I left for a bit. I asked him why the place was so empty. He tells me that the museum is the man's passion project, but he's been having trouble bringing in visitors and revenue. This makes me sad. We continue walking. The museum is connected to a japanese mall (dream logic idk). It's abandoned and dark, but really modern. It reminds me of Lain. At some point we reach another mall, this one is well lit and actually has people in it!

I was really sad when I came back to the museum. I stared crying and I hugged the owner, who comforted me and was very nice. I don't remember if this part takes place before I left the museum with my dad or after I cried. The museum owner gives me an old, 2D videogame. There were two stages. The first takes place outside an old house, located in a forest clearing. You had to solve puzzles and get points. At some point, a line of rats come out of the house. You can no longer solve puzzles after this and need to go inside the house, starting the second stage. I don't remember what happens then.

I thought about going to r/lostmedia or r/tipofmytongue to see if anyone knows the game so I could promote the museum to them, only to see both subreddits filled with Brazilian looksmaxxing tutorials. I woke up after that.

This dreaming session was so long, I actually had a less interesting dream before this one. I was in an elevator with my mom and our dog. I had a goal (I don't remember what tho), which was interrupted by an annoying, tan man. I don't like this dream because I don't remember much about it and I felt stressed when my dog got too close to the elevator doors.

ANYWAYS CONCLUSION TIME!! This is the best dream I've had in a while. I want to learn to draw as a summer project, so I'll defininitely make the owner my oc and draw him, I even came up with the design!!
