IT'S ESPECIALLY STRANGE TO ME CUZ MOST FUJO/HIME MATERIAL DOESN'T ACCURATELY DEPICT HEALTHY MLM DYNAMICS IM NOT SURE ABT WLW BUT IT'S ALSO PROB THE SAME. ALSO I'M NOT TALKING ABT THE PPL WHO LIKE THE OCCASIONAL WLW OR MLM BASED ROMANCE OR WTV I'M TALKING ABT THE PPL WHO READ/WATCH ONLY STRAIGHT UP SMUT OF MLM/WLW WHEN THEY AREN'T NWLNW OR NMLNM (idc if ur like nb or ace cuz ur non conforming so ur chill). Fujoshis are equivalent to men fetishizing lesbians. Both are just as worse. I'll never understand fetishizing certain sexualities. Is it that hard not to turn a social identity, a sexual orientation into a fetish? And what's worse is that adult fujoshis are grooming young girls into this whole thing(yuck). They turned this into a silly little aesthetic atp. It's just straight-up weird. I also noticed none of them glorifies wlw relationships (which would still be weird, no sexual orientation should be fetishized) like they do it with mlm. If u go up to any mlm fetishizers and hand them any wlw books, they'll be uninterested(or even disgusted). if you just like romance (be it be mlm,wlw,straight) that's another thing but to literally want an ero-romance specifically between men screams fetishization to me. the amount of people thirsting over gay men and their private lives is astonishing. I just wish they'd feel even a little ounce of shame when admitting that they fetishizes mlm, but no, they say it like its something to be proud of. The new hatsune miku song about being a fujoshi? I love hatsune miku but whose idea was it to chose that theme, like that idea was modified by a whole ass team from a corporation, made it into a mv and published it and they saw nothing wrong? it's a shame because I really enjoyed the beethoven sample in the chorus.

the worst fujoshi out there is VivziePop. she literally created a whole series with sexualized gay guys where it is intended to be a joke or (God forbid) representation. i'm not the first to say that if angel dust was hetero and flirted this way with girls no one would take it, this show would be straight up cancelled and vivienne would be an even more discussed person than she already is. also do u remember how blitzo and (i don't remember that asshole's name)'s relationship gets shown off as dramatic and expects the viewer to feel sympathetic towards (this asshole) even tho all he's doing is abusing his bf and abandoning his own duaghter. oh and i also REEALLY like the fact that women in these shows (especially helluva boss) serve to be plot instruments for male characters. the exception is probably charlie and carmilla

but as a girl myself — i can confirm that fujoshis are sick as fuck, especially since the epitome of the ideal fujoshibwithin themselves is the sickest thing ever, but the way they romanticize it is not with the same pupose ed communities on tumblr/twitter do as an exemple....
the more chronically only behaviour boxes you tick on a fujoshi personality test, the more "fujoshi-wise" a fujoshi is considered, and i hated that even when i identified myself as a fujoshi (i dont do that anymore obvuously and i really wasnt, just enjoyed some romantic fanfictions sometimes with erotic backgrounds that most of tge times were set in mlm ship dynamics bc they were the only thing i could find)
i cant talk a lot about fujodanshis but as far as i can remember, they arent usually as bad as fujoshis, but when they're down worse, they're 400,000,890× worse, trust me.
practically the same with himejoshis but i dont know how deep their fetishism can get bc i never saw a single case but if its an erotic homosexual fiction trope, it can easily get bad.
and i also hate the way himejoshis act way more superior to fujoshis, as if they were known such as fujoshis, they would be seen as the same fetishistic shit. and im not mentioning "casual himejoshi × sick chronixally online fujoshi";, no— i mean "obcessive addicted himejoshi × slightly rotten fujoshi", and tgats all because how lesbianism is perceived withing non-honosexual peoples...

i will agree, fujoshis, specifically, are very odd, esp when it was back in the 2010s, when it was extremely normal to be the hyper-sexualizing type, except, now its more so, just BL enjoyers trying to reclaim a title that has (and still is) been used to hate on specifically women. so i definitely see your problems with it, its just that the "fujoshis are weird" argument was more applicable to "older fujoshis".. and at least, in the fandoms i tend to run in, yaoi, like specifically gay anime porn, isnt the same powerhouse it was in old fandom, and people nowadays, more likely to call out fetishizers. now i cant really speak on himedanshis, as, quite frankly, i havent seen any, although i feel as though they are signifigantly less fetishizing than fujos, in the sense that Yuri is so severely less popular than yaoi, and it has been until recently..
i definitely agree with your statement of nonwomen watching lesbian porn, that is... extremely weird to me... but ive always seen non men watching gay porn more so as a " i dont have to worry if a woman is being exploited" because the adult industry just loves to do that, AND afab can insert themselve more into gay porn, than amab can into lesbian porn.

Maybe you haven't seen as many women oversexualizing gay men, but I feel like it's DEFINATELY just as big of an issue now, specifically within minor spaces. Plenty of women and men read BL/GL, that in itself isn't too bad (If it doesn't include NSFW themes), however it ignores the issue that a lot of yaoi/yuri includes themes that are unsafe for minors or even adults, and can teach people ideals that are simply not okay. As an example: Killing Stalking was INCREDIBLY controversial and led many minors (more women reading I have observed) to think that people treating them that way is okay. Not even mentioning the high rate of fetish content in both Yaoi and Yuri.
Besides the minor portion, Fujoshi's and Himedanshi's cause a big harm to the LGBTQ+ community by contributing to oversexualization of Gay and Lesbian relationships in media, and indirectly makes many people view LGBTQ+ relationships as purely sexual. I don't think these individuals need to be attacked per say, but excusing their behavior when more often than not they KNOW what they're doing it wrong is incredibly disrespectful. nonetheless people who indulge in that media genuinly need help.

the misconception with killing stalking always kills me, because its so obvious that you aren't supposed to read it as a sexy yaoi story, it is a psychological thriller that is gay, but at the end of the day, its not yaoi/ BL.
and obviously yes, women fetishizing mlm relationships is always going to happen. same with men fetishizing wlw relationships, like, that just always going to happen, i truly don't think there is a form this world could take where that doesn't happen to some capacity. I will agree, they have done severe harm to the community, that is just a fact of the matter because over sexualization of any group will cause harm overtime. and while i agree, minors shouldn't be watching or reading nsfw content all all, to say that lgbt+ porn is inherently fetishy is weird. and to say that people shouldn't be able to depict bad situations with gay characters is weird, because at the end of the day, lgbt+ people are just as likely to end up in the same horrible relationships as straight people. because authors can do everything in their power to make everything "correct" but they cant control on how the audience response and ingests the media. and to say its just as big of a problem as it was is just wrong, i was in the hetalia fandom, on the later half of its peak. its NOWHERE as bad as it was, and to say it is is just inflating a dying issue.

The openly passing around is such an issue. I worked at Barnes & Noble and my coworkers would always try to put me on to that shit and it was dead ass always porn.
