Thoughts on mathematics?

For me its one of the best subjects;best but not the most important,this would be like English since you can't do anything without language.

But like it's fun, stimulates logical thinking and problem solving skills,and it blends with every other subject, history, geography,art,etc.

The problem is the way of teaching; if you just pass some formulas with no connection,no derivation of such formulas,or cool ways or fun ways of using it,it becomes kinda useless and meaningless, making it boring.
