I love arts and crafts. I love to make shit and do shit, and especially stuff I can give away. I've done/do cross stitch, sewing, knitting, and a bunch of other stuff. Now, I'm getting into quick and dirty screenprinting (embroidery hoops, sheer curtains from Walmart, and modge podge).
I love my tribal nation, but the stuff we have for wearables lacks variety. I see a lot of the folks from the local tribes with such cool stuff, and I get a little jelly. Don't get me wrong, we've got some fun stuff, but the stuff I want to wear just doesn't exist. So, in the grand tradition of artists everywhere, I'm making it myself! =D
Started out with bleach gel on t-shirts (fun, but messy and not as uniform as I wanted). Was about to try out lino-printing when I ran across a random post on Tumblr that started off with fanart and ended with "how to screenprint for a few bucks" (thank you theshitpostcalligrapher).
I've managed to make two screens so far, and I'm having a lot of fun. It's a little difficult to make the type of detailed prints I want to really do, so I'm going to invest in some drawing fluid and developer (fancy shit). If everything goes right, I want to have shirts done for my family, and a few extras so that I can give them away at our yearly meeting.

The face is based off our traditional designs, and the paddle is region specific to our river-based territory.

My first design, our canoe paddle. Put this one down the arms of a hoodie I'm remodeling.

Hello fellow crafting person!! I started arts and crafts this year too! I joined a community online on discord for it. Lots of people doing sewing projects and such. I fell in love with felt crafts. I just made my first project this year✨ it's so fun✨ currently thinking about making a scrabble bracelet, hairclips or scrunchies
Your work has nice craftsmanship. It's clean! What's your secret? I have hyperhidrosis so my hands are always sweaty @ _ @
Anyways good work! Awesome to see another person crafting!

Hi there, fellow crafter!! =D
️
I'm so glad you've found the joy that is making things. I love the idea of feltcraft, but I've never really had the time to get into it --not that that's stopped me EVER. XD
I think the reason my design is so clean is because I make a drawing of what I want and slide it under the slightly lifted printing screen, so I can paint the design on the silk without having to draw on the screen itself. That's the only thing I can think of, anyway!
It's a bummer your hands get so sweaty, I imagine that can add a whole new level of difficulty to learning. Have you thought about cotton gloves with the fingers cut off? You can usually find cheap ones at the hardware store, and it might be absorbent enough for your needs. I don't know though, you know your needs and solutions far better than I do!
