Lots of punk, alt, and even scene fashion derives a lot from diy craftsmanship. I'd def recommend trying to find social media influencers that are in these subcultures and take notes from them. For me personally, sometime when I thrift, it's not for looking for specific pieces but more so for finding fabrics I can salvage and use later on for personal projects. Get creative with it!! It's tough work but it's yours

def get ready to pierce your fingers every now and then if youre doing it by hand, and if you are going by hand, just take your time, look up tutorials on yt abt different sewing patterns and styles, you got that╭( ・ㅂ・)و

Resale sites/apps are a good option I'd recommend depop you just have to be careful cuz sometimes people will just sell shein stuff on there but it has a really good algorithm to recommend you stuff after you like a couple things
