Trying to find a place in a band

ive been going to local shows in my town since around the beginning of last year thanks to one of my skate buddies; ive met some really cool people and have made lots of memories and connections. every now and then id get stopped by another attendee after an event and be told stuff along the lines of "duuuude you gotta start/join a band"; although flattering, i usually bypass comments like that cause the idea of such a thing seemed sorta out of the ordinary for me. i have been interested into doing music (preferably drums) for a while but ive never actually learned to play any instruments. with my current skillset, itd be appropriate to be a vocalist within given genres such as death metal, deathcore, slam, sludge, and so on. i find it fun having such a wide vocal range and using it for whatever lolz. as of recent this year ive taken the possibility of actually preforming pretty seriously.

for almost the last 3 months ive been attending a local bar weekly for their weekly karaoke night, and ive been having a blast, loads of compliments from other people as well. i even get compliments from people that, on an outside view, seem pretty regular and wouldnt seem interested in that type of music. for about 2 of these months ive made connections to others in the local scene, most of which led to dead ends, ghosting, or still "pending" (theyre not coming back to me lmao T-T)

nevertheless, ive made ONE connection with a guy who was actually interested in sampling my vocals for some of his wip projects and not only that he wanted to do so this week!! in his words he said he wanted to "collab", ive been excited since then ^o^ i havent gotten around to texting him again to set up a jam sess cause of last week being so filled up with work and my social life but im going to connect with him ASAP, hopefully this wont be a dead end again lol. im so ready for this week's karaoke night as well, hopefully i can make another connection in my local scene
