before i start ranting, i know this is such a non issue but today im feeling impulsive and i didnt eat breakfast so OH IM GONNA RANT :(
OKAY SO ILOVE BEING GEN Z BUT AT THE SAME TIME I WANNA KMS REMEMBERING THAT THIS GENERATION IS SO UHHH KILL ME ALREADY OH GO. why are younger gen Z complaining about this and this and that. WHEN THEY HAVENT EVEN EXPERIENCED IT"well in 2007 youtube looked like this!!" or "bring back 2005!" mind you, the kid is like born in 2012. ho. be SO FOR REAL. LIKE DO NOT PISS ME OFF. Imagine growing up and your kids ask you what you used to do as a kid and you say "well i was born in 2012, but i used to go on this little app called tiktok and complain about how everything was better in the early 2000's when i havent even experienced it! that was my favorite hobby comparing 2025 to 2005! knowing these bitches are 20 YEAERS APART." Like why is not only gen z but gen alpha also idealizing nokias? i mean its such a non issue, but i remember when i was little, we already had mobile phones but my dad refused to give me a phone so he gave me this old nokia to save me from the internet (he was right lol) I HATED THAT THING SO MUCH. I HATE FLIP PHONES AND THESE STUPID NOKIAS LIKE OH MY GOD HOW CAN ANYONE LIKE THEM IM SERIOUS. I feel bad for people who had to use that bs for a great chunk of their life like SENDING PRAYERS. like YES i love my iphone and the fact that God let me live in this generation. you dont understand how grateful i am to be a teenager in the 2020's
the conclusion is - imagine growing up realizing all you did was complain about the year you were born it, lets accept the fact that now we are complaining about 2025 (YES THERE ARE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABT IT) just WAIT until 2030, ya'll going to cry because 2025 is over, like we are the smartest species so act like it -_-

to be fair a lot of its nostalgia, kids of a modern generation will ALWAYS look back at the last few generations and go: woah that so cool, because its something they dont have currently.
I dont find it annoying, rather its really cool to teach these people about the importance of physical media and the impact major corporations really had on the removal of certain devices like nokias and flip phones and why they became so quickly outdated. [because the government cant exactly spy on you like that]
Im FROM that generation of people who experienced it and id give anything for this generation TO experience it because really it was a simpler time that should be enjoyed by all. No denying were in a digital age, but that digital age also used to look cool- unique. A phone wasnt just a little black or purple brick that needs your face to open or keeps you glued to it constantly.
I understand this is a rant blog and everything you said is totally valid xD I felt the same way the longest time about video games
i totally understand you!! Valid point tho, it would be cool if we still had um the old media or whatever it's called but a nokia would send me to a coma xd

To be fair, this decade genuinely sucks. I'm not trying to say or imply that the past was perfect (it most certainly wasn't), but there are many aspects of the past (especially during the 1990s and 2000s) that were better that what we have or are dealing with in today's stupid modern world.
I'm probably pretty close to your age, but I've absolutely resented the fact that I'm a teenager of this stupid decade (plus the last few months of 2019 as well) ever since it began (and losing a year of my life, a year of my adolescence, a year that's supposed to be looked back upon positively as you get older, between the ages of 13 - 14, to COVID-19 certainly doesn't help, either) and always will. Aside from the global pandemic shutting the world down, I ABSOLUTELY LOATHE this decade's "culture", am upset by the deprecation of physical media (such as CDs and DVDs), am not very fond of this decade's "fashion" or "style", am utterly enraged by the fact that the rich, greedy billionaires are slowly destroying our society via smartphone/social media dependence and addiction and are now even threatening our jobs and livelihoods with the takeover of artificial "intelligence", am absolutely appalled by the overturning of fundamental civil rights that people fought hard for in the past such as Roe v Wade on the federal level, etc. To say this decade is dystopian is a complete understatement.
Yes, I am bitter and resentful, but I have every reason and right to feel and to be this way, particularly so as an artist, a woman in the United States, and as someone who sees the value in face to face social interactions with other real, breathing, living humans, as well as someone whose teen years were affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The world looked and felt much cooler, more real, more creative, and more exciting to live in 20 years ago than it does now. Individuality was stronger and more alive in 05 than it is now in 2025 where almost everyone is competing to be complete carbon copies of one another. And most importantly, the technology that we had 20 years ago wasn't so invasive and intrusive to our lives as the technologies we have now, many of which are explicitly and knowingly being used to cause harm (especially to children and teens whose brains are still developing). And I'm sorry, but I for one, do not like the 2020s as a decade and what it stands for, and never will.
Also, you do realize that this is a 2000s MySpace revival website, right?

As someone who is currently using a flip phone to read this, THEY HAVE NO IDEA OF MY PAIN (i literallycan't spell, my 2 key is stuck :(() like, i would never wish this stupid kaios flip phone on anyone. Only plus is i get to spell really fast when my keys are working :P

yup, valid point but my blog was ranting about the fact that i feel bad for most of gen z who waste their time wishing old times come back knowing it's not going to happen, on top of that they are wasting their time worrying about stuff they haven't even experienced which is even MORE dumber lol
