Hey hi hello ts is my first blog here's my oc lore ok bai
The Midnight Masquerade Circus was more than a performance; it was a hidden world, a secret kept even from those who performed within it. By day, its members were ordinary high school students—misfits, loners, overachievers, and outcasts—each living separate lives. But by night, under the glow of ethereal lanterns and an endless canopy of stars, they transformed into masked wonders, defying gravity, summoning illusions, and bending reality itself. No one knew how they found the circus—it found them. A whisper in the wind, a flickering invitation scrawled in ink that shimmered under moonlight, an inexplicable pull toward something greater. Each performer, unaware that their fellow classmates stood beside them behind painted masks, believed they were alone in this extraordinary second life. The circus was more than spectacle; it was a test. The acts demanded more than skill—they required a surrendering of the past. The fire breather could only unleash his flames when he let go of his fear. The acrobat could only defy gravity when he relinquished control. The musician who played without a voice could conjure melodies from the depths of sorrow. Powers they never knew they had emerged, but only at the cost of a piece of themselves. Yet, beneath the dazzling performances and secret identities, a mystery loomed. Why had they been chosen? What force bound them together, making their fates intertwine beyond coincidence? And, most hauntingly, why did they feel an inexplicable familiarity with the circus, as if they had been here before? But failure came at a greater cost than simply vanishing. Those who faltered in their performances found themselves trapped in a time loop, forced to relive the same night over and over until they could overcome their challenge. Some never escaped, their minds fraying as they repeated the same act endlessly, their bodies moving on instinct while their souls withered. If they could uncover the truth, they might finally escape their fate. But if they failed… the circus would claim them once more, and the show must always go on.
The circus performers are trapped in a time loop, competing against an alternate version of themselves every night. Only one circus can move forward, while the losers are reset. They remember past loops, but memories transfer unpredictably between them—each reset, a different person recalls the previous loop while forgetting another. This creates confusion, distrust, and gaps in their understanding of the cycle. Over time, they start piecing together their past failures, but the shifting memories make it difficult to fully break free. Some may hide or manipulate what they remember, while others struggle with horrifying truths they wish they could forget.
The Ringmaster is a charismatic yet wicked figure, toying with the performers as if they were his personal entertainment. His motives remain unknown, but he has specifically chosen these individuals for a reason.
CHARACTERS:
Viktor
- Trait: Charisma
- Flaw: Impulsive / Reckless
- Struggle: Viktor acts without thinking, which leads him into trouble. His impulsiveness comes from a fear of vulnerability, as he tries to keep moving forward rather than confronting his emotions or past. In the circus, this can make him a brilliant performer but hard to work with.
Theo
- Trait: Attachment
- Flaw: Fear of Letting Go / Stagnation
- Struggle: Theo clings to the past, whether through old friendships or memories. This fear of change keeps him stuck, making him passive or indecisive. His ventriloquist act reflects this attachment, as he hides behind his puppet rather than speaking for himself, unable to let go of the past.
Mike
- Trait: Brilliance
- Flaw: Inability to Accept Defeat / Arrogance
- Struggle: Bogdan’s brilliance makes him feel superior, but any failure is difficult for him to accept. He becomes bitter and defensive when things don’t go as planned, and this often isolates him from others. In the circus, his perfectionism can create tension with his fellow performers.
Matthew
- Trait: Endurance
- Flaw: Bottling Up Emotions / Overbearing Strength
- Struggle: Matthew’s strength is his ability to endure hardships, but it also causes him to bottle up emotions and refuse help when he needs it. He sees vulnerability as a weakness and avoids showing his true feelings. In the circus, this can make him an emotional rock for others, but his inability to ask for help creates distance and strain.
While wandering through the magic mirror maze during one of his usual explorations, Theo notices a pile of broken glass that seems out of place. Despite being shattered, the reflections within the pieces are still moving unnaturally. Driven by curiosity, he instinctively pieces the shards together, forming a vintage handheld mirror with a handle.
Upon looking into the mirror, Theo doesn’t see his own reflection. Instead, the mirror reveals a fragmented and unclear vision of an alternate timeline—one where he and the other performers are free from the circus. He sees fleeting images: them without masks, escaping through the empty grounds at dawn. The final scene shows someone walking away, dropping the mirror—and that person is wearing the same shoes as Theo, hinting that it was him in another version of events.
However, because the mirror is cracked and stained, he only sees part of the full escape method. He now knows freedom is possible but not how to fully achieve it. This makes the mirror both a source of hope and a burden.
Theo keeps the mirror hidden, unsure whether revealing it would change fate or endanger others. He chooses to gatekeep the knowledge of the escape route, afraid of what might happen if they left—or if they forgot him
That's it for now, I'll start writing episodes and scenarios later
