Not an emperor but my favorite dictator in the Roman Empire was Cincinnatus by far. He was called upon by a failing Roman government, left his farm home and wife, absolutely destroyed the Aeaquians and then only a mere 15 days after assuming the role of dictator. He went right back to his farm with his wife. My absolute goat
