Title is not literal, sorry guys. You've been clickbaited.
Anyway, I'm working on a zombie apocalypse story. Got the bases figured out (aka. what the virus is like and the main military group trying to contain it) and now I'm stuckkk. I don't know where to go from there.
Like obviously it's gonna be all angsty and shit because why wouldn't it be, but I don't know what to work on next.
Should I start working on characters? Make some kind of "official" documents? Should I do more research?? (pls no that's the most boring part)

Yes, you should start working on the characters, giving them personalities and their roles. And you don't need documents unless you really want to expand on the lore and make this into a series, you only need to add some context that makes sense.
Guess that makes sense, luckily I've got a few characters in mind already. And I know tons of extra lore isn't necessary but I love love love just going into detail about everything whether it's useful or not lol. Do you think making character sheets would be useful? Never tired them before but they seem fun :)

Character sheets are definitely useful to save and provide a bunch of details and notes for a character... And adding a lot of detail can really add a lot of depth, story structure and authenticity, yk?...
