So I've been working on a fursuit on-and-off for a while now, less so lately partly due to motivation and partly due to this dilemma I've been having regarding the fur I chose.
Back in February (wow I've been burnt out thinking about this a while huh) I ordered my fur and had already cut out, sewn together, & even partially glued it to the headbase. It was expensive!!over $300 of fabric!! yikes!
The problem I'm facing now is... I don't really like this fur in retrospect. The colors are a little off from the reference, I think I might've been comparing it to my older art of the character (which uses a slightly different palette to that of what I prefer now) as well as being on my phone screen which has a warm blue light filter enabled, so the pink colors are nowhere near vibrant enough to match the character (Strawbie)

The silliest thing is I had ordered swatches of all the pinks prior as well and still went with the wrong ones. 🙄 Ah Flowers you fool.
Another thing, I ordered from Big Z, which I had heard to be a reputable and commonly used source for faux fur for many creators, but later after having been using it I had seen others suggesting howlfabrics more, mainly for their better quality.
One major aspect with my batch of fur I had thought was just me being a little inexperienced or delulu, was how one color seemingly had no discernible pile direction, I learned this is actually a well known and fairly common manufacturing flaw from Big Z that they refuse to address or fix!! Gahhh!!
So here I am now, months later with little-to-no extra progress on the suit because I've effectively burnt $300 and plenty of time sewing this incorrectly colored, poor quality fur. Lovely.
I really want to keep working on it, but I can't push the feeling I'd be wasting my time making something I wouldn't be happy with. Sooner or later I need to just bite the bullet and completely reorder fabric probably. :/
