I have been an artist for over 10 years and I want to touch on the topic of AI even though everyone has already spoken out before me. AI is not completely evil, but the biggest mistake is permission for general use. An artist is not able to sue and prohibit the use of their style to feed AI, even the seemingly large Ghibli Studio has not yet succeeded in this (I know there are talks going on to ban feeding this style to AI). Of course there are those who are ready to give up their style for a monetary payment, but that is another matter, because here the artist at least gets money and everything is done under a contract or something like that (the best option)
Worse than that, AI is capable of creating deepfakes that can ruin a human courier, and I'm really scared because it's much harder to justify yourself in such a situation because AI makes too much quality and you can't immediately understand that it's AI in general. And you can't complain to the court, because there is no such law yet and it will come into force.
I hope for the best. Generative AI is terrible.

It's not particularly good at it, and image generation is only a peripheral application of linear progression and machine learning. Those features are primarily used as testing grounds and data mills for compilation improvement. Chances are, most people who resort to AI for their audiovisual entertainment are hobbyists, who wouldn't necessarily have employed an actual artist regardless. Most people aren't using image generators, because they wanted an artwork in the first place and AI is cheaper, but simply because the opportunity presented itself.
This makes sense, but I'm talking specifically about those who actively try to prove that artists are worthless, but then use the work of those same artists without their permission. If someone just wanted to have fun, that's ok, but you can't prove that it's as valuable as real art, because it's just a mishmash of existing things. At the same time, large corporations don’t care; they just want a pretty picture.

Corpos will be corpo-ing, story as old as time. If not through automation, they'd find other ways to shortchange people.

Personally I think the issue is people are using ai for the wrong things. You make something so magnificently intelligent and use it because you don't wanna pay for artwork???? These computers are capable of analyzing, studying, and submitting an output of what they've learned within SECONDS. Do you know what kind of uses a resource like this is capable of??? It could help us shape the future of human kind, make it faster and easier to come to scientific discoveries and magnificent inventions and it's used to make a million fucked up drawings of big booba anime women with 15 fingers and melting hair. As a true artificial intelligence enthusiasts, I cannot even begin to tell you how much this disappoints me.
I agree! If someone uses AI for something really important — ok then. I hate the arrogant people who think that time = quality. Come on, that's not true!
