Social media has killed teenagers

people truly believe that they must act “freaky” or sexual to be cool, it hurts to see my piers act this way in order to fit in. i believe this is the main reason i don’t have a lot of irl friends, everyone my age acts sexual or “freaky” and it honestly makes me disappointed.

I dont get why people try to fit in with others even when it becoems bothersome or tiring for them. Its not that I have never been lonely or fitted in with everyone all the time.I remember crying every single day in primary school back when I was just a little kid cause I had 0 friends
(like none at all seriously) for 2 years.

But now I have grown up (atleast I hope so) and know that if someone doesn't like me for who I am then we were never meant to be friends to begin with.

Besides if you make friends by fitting in with the people by doing stuff you dont actually do normally or acting as someone who isnt you normally, then its just going to hurt you in the long run.I'd say this is also the reason why many relationships fail these days as people make themselves look better than what they actually are and boost their ego.I m not saying you should come wearing pajamas to the first date but be truthful about yourself to others.

precisely this.

I was hypersexual for some time and I sometimes genuinely couldn’t control it. my friends said a lot of sexual jokes and words so frequently that it slipped into me too. nowadays, even in the past, the likability of a person is just based on if they’re, and I quote, ‘a 2/10 or 10/10’ and some other shit I do not name.

teens can’t even say things like ‘beautiful’ or ‘gorgeous’, as literally any physical compliment has to be inappropriate. the fact that people do it for the sake of FITTING IN is just sad.
