this tutorial is going to cover three different methods, imgur, imgbb and tumblr! but your goal is to get a direct link to the image so literally ANY way of doing that is fine

apologies for the inevitable nightmarish formatting i wish i knew how to make these dropdowns but im a simple man (dumbass)

IMGUR

okay so i do not use imgur HFJKH never used it in my life. BUT im going to figure it out for all you wonderful people RIGHT NOW!

NOTE: apparently this doesn't work? im leaving this here because of the direct vs viewer link bit but try imgbb or tumblr instead!!

when you first open the site (https://imgur.com) you'll be greeted by this page here!

you my dear friend are going to want to click "new post" in the top left corner by the logo, which will bring you here to the upload page

should be self-explanatory, choose whatever image you like!

i chose a drawing of my baby boy, which you can see here

so you just copy the link and paste it into here!

right?

WRONG! i did that and as you can see my image is not there. the reason for this is that this is a viewer link, not a direct link! a viewer link is what leads to that page with all the fancy unnecessary shit

what you want to do is right-click on the image

and select "open image in new tab" (or press and hold for mobile users! the option may come up as something different like "open image" but you should know it when you see it!)

that'll lead to this page! empty, nice and easy for spacehey to just grab straight from. so there's your direct link, now you can upload it!

IMGBB

imgbb is territory i've long since charted, so this will be very easy! opening https://imgbb.com/ leads you here, to an extremely overwhelming page if you ask me

you want to ignore EVERYTHING except for "start uploading", which you want to click and add whatever it is you want uploaded. im actually gonna switch to an incognito tab to make sure it looks the same for someone without an account

so the image i want to upload is this old drawing of stan. as you can see its set to "dont autodelete", which is important if you dont want your shit vanishing.

SO im going to go ahead and click that big green button right there, and would you look at that my image is uploaded!

unless you want the same problem as last time with imgur, now you're going to want to click that little dropdown and change it to "direct links", or else you'll get the same result of nothing showing up!

now just copy what shows up in that box and you're good to go!!

TUMBLR

okay so tumblr is my personal go-to for art, though i used imgbb for uploading all of these images. just depends on if you have a blog and what you want to put on it

if you have tumblr, you know how to post on tumblr, so i'll make this quick!

say you want to upload a drawing you just posted.  im just going to go with a drawing i already have on here of ford wearing my fit because ive spent too long on this tutorial already and my friend is waiting for it im sorry starrv

so i have my post here, what im gonna do is CLICK ON IT FIRST TO ZOOM IN, then right click it and open it in a new tab

same kind of page as with imgur, no flowery shit just the image, copy that link and put it into spacehey like so!
