i miss you

the weight of my mourning
was stretched from one horizon’s edge--
where the sun rises in morning
to the other side
where the sun falls to sleep
where night calls
and you call me into an endless sleep
an endless dream
of your face lit by moonlight
through open windows
where the cool air would grace your cheek
enthralling me into the web
woven by your own slender fingers
gracing my jaw
bones where your ice cold
blue lips would linger
upon my neck,
bruised--
upon my body,
bruised--
upon my thighs,
bruised--
upon my soul,
bruised--
upon me,
bruised--
and upon this empty mattress
coldly moonlit
your imprint sits barren
and i miss you
