(19/04/25) Jumbo movie made me cry

april 19 was yesterday, so this is late lol

I went with my family to watch an original Indonesian animated movie called Jumbo. it was named the best so far in country, equal to disney pixar which is a BIG deal for the animation industry in Indonesia, so ofc I was curious.

The movie itself is about a little boy who basically wants to enter a storytelling perfomance to a talent show in his town. The theme is very big on family, loss, and loved ones. All characters are beautifully written kids, and there was one song, and it made me BAWL.

the song itself wasn't even sad, it was just so beautiful, the singers Prince Poetiray and Quinn Salman (both kids btw) were so, so talented. The song held a theme of coping with a loved-ones leave or even death, and hearing it through that child-like innocence with the help of these two kids' voices was jst heartbreaking and melting all at once. 

the song is called Selalu di Nadimu, it's on spoti! probably.

ONE LAST UNIMPORTANT NOTE

at the end of the movie, there was a visual sequence for the credits that made me bawl harder cause the crew (director, producer, the incredible team behind Jumbo) used their CHILDHOOD PICTURES. it made me so emotional because you can tell the movie was such a special, personal project for everyone. AND DID I MENTION 420 INDONESIAN ANIMATORS WERE INVOLVED. I didn't. there you go.
