Japanese American marines interrogate imperial Japanese servicemen

In world war 2, some Japanese Americans (Nisei) served in the marine corps and fought their fellow Japanese countrymen. These Japanese American marines came in handy when it came to interrogations due to their knowledgeable of the language and ability to interpret for other American marines.

(It’s important to note that marines do not use the term “soldier” to refer to themselves.)
