last weekend my bf and I drove over to Pawtucket, Rhode Island to go to Clam Jam II, a two day music fest feature a 26 band lineup that together create a microcosm of fifth wave in this venue.
Here's who I saw
Gingerbee
This was the first band we saw as we walked in. We missed The first two sets because I live 2.5 hours away. They were really good live, like sounds exactly how it feels like its supposed to if that makes sense. I picked up a tape of the EP. First time seeing them live
Grimlitter
I can't wait til they release something and I can gauge their accumulated popularity properly. They were tight at this gig. Great staple of New York screamo
Pyre
Always great set, the only band I heard free palestine. These guys are lineup hustlers, always getting their name on so many great bills
xxhorse9000
Some crazy sassy whitebelt mosh stuff. Loved their fake guitarist. First time seeing them live
godfuck
They always have a quick set. Maybe the best I've seen from them. Glad to see them again before they break up. I picked up a TSOCT record. looking forward too their next release
Oolong
A little bit of a letdown compared to other sets, as in not as excited by their performance as I thought I would be. but I'm not that familiar with the band still. I'll be seeing them again soon, and I'll probably have a better time after listening to them some more. First time seeing them live
bulletsbetweentounges
One of my favorite overlaps in the crossover fifth wave emo and 20's hardcore. This was the point in the night where I committed to getting fully into the crowd. Marking my place as getting to catch them before they were huge.
The World is a Beautiful Place &INLAD
Such a great set, even though I was only really ever familiar with just one of their albums, I thoroughly enjoyed it, their arrangement was great it really felt like I was immersed in their own special experience. First time seeing them live. I listened to some of their records later and it put me right back to their show, they sound just like their record.
In Loving Memory
Definitively the most energetic band of the night. Even though they have the oldest average age of the bands this night. They fuckin got it. I was never a big ILM listener in my scramz comeup but goddamn ill try and catch their live act any time I can. so fun
Your Arms Are My Cocoon
Another great set every time. No Metamorphasis or IL//AB- YArms gone woke. I talked to Tyler the next day and I was so horribly embarrasiing
at first, at first
First time seeing them live
MIDDLING
Dreamwell
First time seeing them live
XBONGX
Catalyst
herlovebeheadsdaisies
Sinema
One of my favorite new emo bands. First time seeing them live
Newfound Interest in Connecticut
I was crying this whole set. I don't really know why but I was just bawling my damn eyes out the whole time. First time seeing them live
Lagrimas
First time seeing them live
Jerome's Dream
They did not dissapoint. First time seeing them live
