Got a new phone! :3

I recently ordered the Kyocera Gratina KYF-42, i arrived like 2 weeks ago so i wanted to talk about it!

Why did I get this phone?

The main reason was i got sick of constantly using my smartphone all the time, i was spending way too much time which meant i got very disconnected from real life. I decided i wanted to spend more time with friends and being outside or just doing stuff like reading more books!

Pros:

  • Runs android 10
  • lightweight
  • small
  • decently durable
  • it has an open and close sound!
  • several silent modes (e.g. manner mode which just makes buttons quiter and turns off noti sound)
  • has a cursor for apps not built specifically for the phone
  • no google!
  • not much bloatware!
Cons:
  • slightly fast draining battery (this might just be my one as it was bought second hand)
  • 1GB RAM (it just means you need to be a few seconds more patient)
  • a very small amount of apps dont work due to a lack of google play services
  • i had to set up my data provider APN manually
  • notifications can be a little delayed at times
  • no app store
A paragraph or something
personally, i love it, alot of the cons are actually kinda pros for me or atleast dont bother me much. the built in browser is a little slow so its alot easier to get ringtones using a computer and transferring the files. I love the look of the phone! (i got the white color one), i covered it in some cute stickers i had, the shape feels really nice, i often found that with my old phone, feeling it in my trouser pocket was super over stimulating for some reason but i dont get that with this phone! my appstore is APKPure which i downloaded onto the phone with my computer, its a little slow and the notifications are incredibly irritating but thats the app rather than the phone, the phone only comes with roughly 8GB storage space but you can add an SD card to get more. i can use apps like Lloyds and discord on it very smoothly and i have had no real issues so far. if youre looking for a new phone thats less addicting but still has basically all the features you need from your day to day phone, then i cannot reccomend this phone enough. i personally got mine on zenmarket and had no issues with delivery (but be prepared to spend quite a bit on shipping depending on what courier you choose....). if u have any questions pls feel free to ask :3

Hmmmm maybe... I've never heard of Niagara I'll check it out tho Ty for the reccomendation! Rn I'm just using the regular android 10 installation it came with as I've never had one of these phones before and I don't wanna mess with it too much just in case lol. I have now changed from apkpure to Aptoide which runs WAYYYY smoother :)
