X, Twitter or Musk chan, whatever is called the site right now.
It has been a lot in my mind the next question: Why is people still using it?
Many people consume a lot of things from that hellsite and is still interesting to see how a lot but a looot of people is still there when is not how it used to be, it has more misinformation, bots and a more awful algorithm.
Looks like many people is just waiting for the site to completely shut down so they can get out of there, many people i know has a lot of mental health issues due do the amount of things they are consuming there, kind of a drug looks like.
When i closed my account there years ago my mental health improved drastically but sadly, i am seeing friends that refuse to leave that site and their mental health is every day worse...

i was fortunate to join this shithole of a site all the way before elon's takeover, thus curating my feed was not a bummer like it seems now since this site became a breeding ground for fascists/alt-right. so far i mainly use it just to interact with my mutuals and friends whom i really cherish and share stuff about my life, yknow my thoughts, art, and other stuff. i rarely use my public art account because 1. i don't feel like gaining audience yet again and 2. i already have two public accounts outside twitter where i can share my art with ease. ngl ive grown more distressed after trump's inauguration making people go full on fascist mode on twitter. at this point all i can do is just block and move on since these people wont go away any time soon. again im lucky to have a curated feed so much so these ""people"" dont show up on my feed very frequently
It's good to know you could curate your feed and you continue to use it with your circle, in my case i tried but i started to hate a lot that place

i think abt this a lot but i remember some small artists and businesses saying it's the only way they can rlly promote their stuff bc facebook is mostly used by older people and other socials r used by ppl too young 2 actually buy anything, so twitter is the middle ground. i quit using it myself bc it wasn't really worth my time and i was at the point where i logged on like once every few months so i just decided 2 delete it. seeing what happened 2 the site and ownership change makes me even more glad i did.
Looks like companies will need to start searching new ways to get into their consumers, at least i think Twitter is a very good example that big social media is not always reliable

yeah definitely. there aren't many other big social medias so i can kinda get y they stay but there's a point where it's probably just better 2 let it go and think of smth else 2 promote urself

I'm a bit guilty of this T-T though I only use it to engage in fandom stuff and post my art. People should start making websites and blogs again because most social media suxx nowadays

I mainly use Twitter as a place to roleplay, so I don't see much I don't want to. Seeing as I've been writing there for upwards of 5 years, it's a bit hard to find anywhere else that works well for me. Unfortunately I think a lot of us are just hoping Muskrat will sell it off. Considering Tesla stocks are what he bought it off of, and those are crashing, there's a bit of hope. At the same time tons of other apps suck in on way or another. Amino, Insta reels, discord becoming a paywall, etc.
Understand that, a lot of other social app suck for specific use and communities...
At least you are not seeing all the awful garbage in your feed hehe

They can't stop because it's made so you CAN'T. It's sad and so people who are quitting alsp consider switching to dumbphones aka flip phones and minimal phones. I'm glad you quit it cos there's nothing good in any of those sites. I even deleted my fb.
I have also considered the idea of dumbphones but i find it a bit difficult for now :s
