blink-182: Every Album Ranked

blink-182 is my favorite band and I wanted to rank all of their mainline albums starting from Buddha to One More Time Part Two! I will not be including anything not on Spotify, no eps and no singles. Yes I know the TOYPaJ bonus songs are their best work, yes I know Dogs Eating Dogs is better than Neighborhoods and yes I know about the Dead Man’s Curve cover! I’ll go through each album in order and my ranking then have each album in order of favorite to least favorite!!!

Buddha (1994) - Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Scott Raynor

1. Carousel

2. The Girl Next Door

3. TV

4. Reebok Commercial

5. Time

6. Point Of View

7. Sometimes

8. Fentoozler

9. Don’t

10. 21 Days

11. Strings

12. Romeo and Rebecca

13. Toast and Bananas

14. My Pet Sally

Quite apparent that it is more of a demo tape than a full album but has some solid songs like Carousel, TV and Reebok Commercial! Some lyrics are outdated and the flow on some songs is odd but quite the intro to blink!

Cheshire Cat (1995) - Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Scott Raynor

1. M+M’s

2. Carousel

3. Peggy Sue

4. Wasting Time

5. Touchdown Boy

6. Cacophony

7. TV

8. Fentoozler

9. Just About Done

10. Depends

11. Ben Wah Balls

12. Does My Breath Smell?

13. Sometimes

14. Strings

15. Romeo and Rebecca

16. Toast and Bananas

I really dislike toast and bananas… the joke songs on this album are also a banger hence why they’re above most the remasters from Buddha! Odd choice to pick the songs they picked although the other half of the songs are absolutely phenomenal! Cacophony has been in my head recently…

Dude Ranch (1997) - Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Scott Raynor

1. Josie

2. Pathetic

3. Lemmings

4. Apple Shampoo

5. Dammit

6. Dick Lips

7. Emo

8. I’m Sorry

9. Untitled

10. Voyeur

11. Waggy

12. Enthused

13. Boring

14. A New Hope

15. Degenerate

Such a solid album with no real bad songs! Very odd choice to bring Degenerate and Waggy back (Waggy was right to be brought back!) and my favorites change on almost every listen. Josie is one of my favorite blink songs ever though! Final album with Scott as well as their last before a major label!

Enema Of The State (1999) - Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker

1. Adam’s Song

2. Going Away To College

3. What’s My Age Again?

4. Dumpweed

5. Wendy Clear

6. Don’t Leave Me

7. All The Small Things

8. Aliens Exist

9. Mutt

10. Anthem

11. Dysentery Gary

12. The Party Song

Adam’s Song was the first blink song I heard and is what led me down their rabbit hole years ago! Once again another no skip album and my ranking always changes depending on listen! Last time I seemed to be very into Wendy Clear! This is the first album with Travis Barker and it’s quite apparent if you listen to the Mutt demo how much he improved their song!

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001) - Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker

1. Stay Together For The Kids

2. Please Take Me Home

3. Roller Coaster

4. Every Time I Look For You

5. Anthem Part Two

6. The Rock Show

7. Reckless Abandon

8. Online Songs

9. First Date

10. Story Of A Lonely Guy

11. Happy Holidays, You Bastard

12. Shut Up

13. Give Me One Good Reason

Another no skip, that’s three so far! Once again another album that I can really swap any song on mood. Similar to Adam’s Song, Stay Together is a very important song to me! Roller Coaster is extremely underrated and Mark agrees!

blink-182 (2003) - Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker

1. Always

2. Go

3. Asthenia

4. I Miss You

5. Feeling This

6. Violence

7. Stockholm Syndrome

8. Here’s Your Letter

9. Easy Target

10. Down

11. Obvious

12. All Of This

13. I’m Lost Without You

14. Stockholm Syndrome Interlude

15. The Fallen Interlude

My favorite album ever and is practically perfect! Every song is amazing with even the interludes being crucial (as Stockholm Interlude is referenced with I’m Lost Without You). It’s amazing how a band matured all over a side project! Wish post punk TOYPaJ really existed…

Neighborhoods (2011) - Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker

1. Ghost On The Dance Floor

2. Hearts All Gone

3. Natives

4. Wishing Well

5. Kaleidoscope

6. Even If She Falls

7. After Midnight

8. Snake Charmer

9. Fighting The Gravity

10. Up All Night

11. Love Is Dangerous

12. MH 4.18.2011

13. This Is Home

14. Hearts All Gone Interlude

Ghost On The Dance Floor is such a strong opener but the rest of the album can’t measure up. The creation is so muddy and sad especially with how great Dogs Eating Dogs turned out! Angels and Airwaves was pretty good in the split era and this album was the decline of both AVA and blink!

California (2016) - Matt Skiba, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker

1. 6/8

2. Parking Lot

3. Misery

4. Good Old Days

5. Wildfire

6. Don’t Mean Anything

7. No Future

8. She’s Out Of Her Mind

9. Cynical

10. Bored To Death

11. The Only Thing That Matters

12. Hey I’m Sorry

13. Kings Of The Weekend

14. Rabbit Hole

15. Home Is Such A Lonely Place

16. Teenage Satellites

17. Left Alone

18. Sober

19. Long Lost Feeling

20. San Diego

21. California

22. Can’t Get You More Pregnant

23. Last Train Home

24. Bottom Of The Ocean

25. Los Angeles

26. Built This Pool

27. Brohemain Rhapsody

I hate Brohemian Rhapsody. First album with Matt and it’s honestly overhated. It’s just alright pop rock! Definitely a step back though from what the band was doing with Tom and Matt is super underutilized, LIKE HES ABSOLUTELY AMAZING IN ALKALINE TRIO AHHHH

Nine (2019) - Matt Skiba, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker

1. Pin The Grenade

2. Heaven

3. Blame It On My Youth

4. The First Time

5. Black Rain

6. Happy Days

7. On Some Emo Shit

8. Hungover You

9. Run Away

10. Darkside

11. Generational Divide

12. Ransom

13. I Really Wish I Hated You

14. Remember To Forget Me

15. No Heart To Speak Of

Top 5 songs are super good the rest of the album is ok I guess. Generational Divide could’ve been great if not a minute long and the stupid long title songs are the same thing copy pasted. Travis’ hip hop influence is not for me at all but they stick to being rock-ish it sounds good! Unfortunate final project for Matt but the goat is back…

One More Time (2023) - Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker

1. Other Side

2. Blink Wave

3. More Than You Know

4. Bad News

5. Turpentine

6. Anthem Part Three

7. Every Other Weekend

8. If You Never Left

9. Fell In Love

10. All In My Head

11. Cut Me Off

12. No Fun

13. Everyone Everywhere

14. Dance With Me

15. Edging

16. You Don’t Know What You Got

17. Can’t Go Back

18. One Night Stand

19. See You

20. Take Me In

21. Terrified

22. One More Time

23. Childhood

24. When We Were Young

25. Turn This Off

26. Fuck Face

27. Hurt (Interlude)

Not the worst return to form but wish they had some more good fun silly songs! Terrified is only low because it makes me sad we aren’t getting another Box Car Racer, but I enjoy this album quite a bit! Travis as producer is ok, the mixing on first release was horrible with super loud drums and the part two release fixed it a bit but it’s still bad. Part Two is the only blink vinyl I’m missing from my physical collection :(

Final album ranking:

1. blink-182

2. Enema Of The State

3. Take Off Your Pants and Jacket

4. Dude Ranch

5. One More Time

6. Cheshire Cat

7. Neighborhoods

8. California

9. Nine

10. Buddha

Dude Ranch to self titled is perfect and no skip, one more time is really good and I’m excited for the future, Cheshire Cat has its highs but the lows are low and half of it is just better Buddha, neighborhoods has some of Tom’s most pretentious song writing and it’s overall a weak-ish product, the Matt stuff is just not as fun or cool as Tom era. I love blink-182 and I’ll probably continue doing this with other bands! Goodbye!!!
