Thought 1) Letterboxd is the new Yelp. Remember when Yelp showed up and everyone thought they were a food critic with deep complex knowledge of the culinary world? Replace that with people who think they're either funnier or smarter than everybody else for the stuff they like. Nobody should care THAT much about their own taste in movies, it doesn't matter to anyone who is important, there's no point in going to such lengths to prove yourself for some performative site that will just pass like a fad.
Thought 2) Most of the games I'd like to play I only haven't gotten to because of filesize. I would have gotten into the new Fortnite and Black Ops LONG ago if they weren't 70 to 100 gigabytes. I'm saying this cause I've been waiting forever for Marvel Rivals to install.
Thought 3) I think Doom Patrol is more easy to like than X-Men, cause with X-Men the metaphor is about a race of people hated by the world. And Doom Patrol is about a collection of individuals who are hated by the world and themselves. Most X-Men have incredible powers that you envy. But nobody wants to be a Doom Patrol member, their abilities are ALWAYS something painful, undesirable or otherwise freakish. Not glamorous at all. I still prefer X-Men to 90% of Marvel stuff, but Doom Patrol speaks more to me since it's commentary is more focused on the individuals instead of the whole group. It's also less popular, so there's less obnoxious discourse about it.
