CELTIC WITCHCRAFT: the true about the Fae ⛧°. ⋆༺♱༻⋆. °⛧

⛧°. ⋆༺ Welcome to our tea party! ༻⋆. °⛧

Dear witch,

Close your eyes for a moment and breathe in the scent of old forests, where the wind still whispers ancient names.

We’re about to step into a realm that has long been veiled by time, misunderstood by stories, and softened by fairytales.

You’ve likely heard of the magical folk said to dwell among trees and mists, but did you know that, in Celtic mythology, these beings were never meant to be seen as fragile or silly?

Today, we journey through the emerald threads of Irish myth, to meet those who once ruled as gods, walked beside mortals, and vanished into legend.

                                                      ﹒⌗﹒🦇﹒౨ৎ˚₊‧

The arrival of the Fair Folk

In the depths of the past, we find Ireland, a land wrapped in mists, where stories breathe with the earth.

In a whisper, the radiant Goddess Danu shaped the mountains and hills.

From them emerged her mysterious children:

great warriors, and women of fierce beauty and wisdom, masters of every art, from enchantment to battle.

These were the Tuatha Dé Danann, the Children of Dana.

They walked the land like gods, weaving magic into every stone and stream.

They waged mighty wars, including the one against the infamous Fomorians, a twisted and chaotic race.

But in time, the Children of Danu were defeated in their final war, the war against humankind.

And so, they faded from the world of men…

or rather, they sank deeper into it, unseen but ever present.

What happened to them

Though defeated by mortals, the Tuatha Dé Danann did not vanish.

Instead, they descended beneath the hills, retreating into the hollow places of the earth, the Sídhe, the ancient mounds where magic still breathes.

There, they wove a new existence, hidden from human eyes.

They became the Aos Sí, the People of the Mounds, not lesser, but veiled.

This was CHOSEN by them.

╰┈➤ The explanation about the Sídhe/Tír Na Nóg) and some more blibiographies will be in future blogs ૮꒰ ˶• ༝ •˶꒱ა ♡

The Syncretism of the Folk

With the Roman invasions against the Celtic people, and the attempt to exclude their cultures, temples and sacred figures destroyed, the CELTIC GODS were reduced to mere "fairy tales", minor gods. Vulgar, drunkards and lazy :/

The "delicate" image that the media created about them gives the idea that they are peasants from the Medieval Era, completely taking away the splendor and power that these beings carry.

Their figures are the most unimaginable possible, in the spiritual world they have enormous moldability, they can appear and perform a metamorphosis, as shown in the book/film "Pan's Labyrinth", where the Fairy molds herself according to what the little girl imagines as "the appearance of a fairy".

omg this is so cool! It totally explains a bunch of stuff for me too, because I was curious on some games inspired by celtic mythology (like home safety hotline, but that's more loosely based on it than anything.) And this is written really well! Ty for making this

I’m sooo glad it helped make some things click for you too, that’s exactly what i was hoping for :)

I haven't played home safety hotline yet but now i'm really curious, i will check it, from what i saw it seems to be interesting, despite the media showing everything in a somewhat "distorted" way, I confess that I love the magical world of games, movies, books, etc
