Maggots (poem)

Maggots

White maggots,

Digging their way into my skin and bones.

Feeding on my fingertips all the way to my horns.

Everything will melt one day,

Black and white will intertwine like us,

Everything will turn gray.

Everything will become nothing,

She'll be looking for her pearl again,

But she'll will always be my everything.

You'll be satisfied with the rain,

As you caress my soul's hound,

For my flesh would be your shelter,

My eye won't be found,

My heart will be your dinner,

My soul will no longer be around.

Just to be a part of you forever,

My bones will break,

Looking down on what's left of my rotten core,

They will shake,

A bloody show behind the door,

Will welcome what's left of their hopes.

I wish I had the right to wait for you,

To finally call you mine,

I wish I had the chance to hold you close.

I wish I had the right to get mad at you,

When you aren't on time,

I wish I had the chance to say that your words are false.

But my pearl I think this is my sign,

My bones won't bear the betrayal,

So let me go towards what's left of me,

Just so my songs can finally rhyme,

With what my body preserved away from me.

Never to be remembered after the end of time.
