I HATE OLD PEOPLE!!

Ok, I needed that title to get your attention.

But seriously, what is wrong with older generations? Like 60+. There’s such a pattern of anger and hate. It all makes no sense… I should NEVER have to be smarter or more emotionally, practically intelligent than someone who’s been around for 4 decades more than me!

“Ramona! What sparked this ageist rant?” Well, I’ll tell you, internet person! Story time: This woman rides the same bus as me and a bunch of other high schoolers every day after school (she’s a nurse- go figure 🙄) and she always finds a way to turn the LOUDEST conversation with the bus driver into something about how lazy and spoiled and morally corrupt MY generation is. Things like, “Kids are so lazy these days! When I was young, I had to work for my money. Nothing was handed to ME.”

And oftentimes she’ll be talking TO us- no one in particular- about this stuff. “You guys will find out later that most jobs don’t let ya take 3 months off!”

First of all, no one asked and nobody’s listening, so why are you speaking at the LOUDEST POSSIBLE FUCKING VOLUME?

What I want to say is what is wrong with you? What made you so horrible? I’m not a spoiled lazy brat for not wanting to spend my free time doing something I hate for people who don’t care all to receive the most minimal paycheck on the planet.

The goal as a parent (I know she has kids) should be to try your best to give your children a better life than you had. And to raise a good person! Not to raise… a machine that only knows work and sleep. I feel that older generations don’t think that way, which is so bizarre to me. Why are you angry at ME because my life is less stressful (perceivably) than yours was at my age?

Sorry I’m not working 12 hour days in the mines and eating scraps of food, I guess. No no, I’m sorry you’re a bitter, sad, angry old woman who’s wasted her entire life on a career as a nurse, doing twice as much work as a doctor for half the pay. I’m sorry you’re a bad person with a subpar outlook who needs to project her issues onto other people’s children in order to distract herself from her loneliness.

Sorry for the long rant! This is just so weird to me.
