People You Meet in the Dark

sometimes, the most interesting conversations happen in your own head, right before sleep, when it’s dark, quiet, and you don’t have to be anyone.in those moments, i feel like versions of myself that never got to live start whispering again. the bold one. the careless one. the version that didn’t overthink every step. they all sit with me at night like old friends i never really met.but there’s always one who speaks the loudest, my subconscious.

She’s not just a thought, she’s more like an old friend who never left.she knows every version of me, even the ones I try to hide during the day.she doesn’t flatter, doesn’t sugarcoat,she just reminds me of the truth i’ve been trying to dodge.

i wonder if we all carry these silent people inside us, unfinished sketches of who we could’ve been. maybe that’s why we feel alone even when we aren’t.because the emptiness isn’t from outside, it’s from the voices we never let speak.i think… the people we meet in the dark say a lot about us.they're the unfiltered, unpolished truths. they don’t lie to protect your image or hold back to fit in.and maybe, just maybe, the version you meet in those quiet hours is the closest to who you really are.

so tonight, i’m just listening.no distractions.no masks.Just me and the unspoken.and the one who’s been quietly watching me all along...
