nail-biter rehab HACKS!! [DISCOVERED FAKE NAILS]

So I've been biting my nails all my life. My fingers, mauled; I've only gotten to see the little tips of the whites probably twice throughout my life. I've tried lots of things, but to no avail.. not even the most disgustingly chemical-tasting nail polish would've stopped me.

HOWEVER. That is, until I tried fake nails. They have a soft, rubbery texture- not very appealing to bite and tear, and did they look GOOD!! I tried very hard to keep them on. The first set i got were press-ons, with adhesive already on the nail instead of requiring the nail glue.
I don't really recommend those ones tbh- they can get wobbly, and the adhesive goes above your fingertips- so expect crumbs and dirt and literally anything to get stuck; you'll be picking at your fake nails for days, loosening them in the process. (specifically the imPRESS brand.)

but after around 2 weeks with them on, the urge to bite was (almost!) gone due to not having access to my nails. :]
Unfortunately I ended up biting a FEW nails, but went about another 2 weeks (except for that 1 day) without biting. My previous record was probably 3 days, so even though I slipped up a little bit, it's INCREDIBLE progress!!!

I can't exactly trust myself with my nails just yet, (I don't want another relapse.) so I went out to get another package of fake nails today- this time with nail glue, which I can already tell is a MASSIVE step up from the icky weird adhesive on the last ones. I'm wearing ones from KISS and the glue is really strong :D I feel a lot more comfortable wearing these, like I don't have to tiptoe around to make sure they don't pop off. And since these use nail glue, if they DO pop off, I can always re-apply them.

So basically. When all else fails, and if it's in your interest, TRY FAKE NAILS!!! You can kick the habit by protecting your nails from your inner nail-biting demon and LOOK GOOD DOING IT!! just remember to push back the cuticles and don't put the nail on top, kinda hurts. found out the hard way

idk why I didn’t think of this I tried not biting off my nails many times and have sub consciously bitten them off without noticing. Maybe putting something there would have been a better idea
