3ds xl if you can afford it. i would only recommend the reg 3ds (new or first release) if you are low on cash and dont mind the smaller size. also if ur into emulators then i wouldnt get the standard either.
i would say the same. you can get away with the reg 3ds if its comfortable for you to hold and you dont mind the smaller screen, but i personally recommend the xl ver nonetheless.

what about if i want to mod it up a bit? mainly so i can change its backgroung and add a few games
