hi everyone, i made my very first zine recently! i originally
distributed it in my local diy music scene, and i now i want to share it
on spacehey! it's about the creativity of the old web, how modern
social media stifles user customization, and ways we can bring that back
on the modern web. i posted the images here, and you can also download the pdf! (if you view it from the browser, make sure you zoom it to "page fit")

the customization portion of this is something that i've been thinking about a lot. i remember when i was younger and people were trying to fit some kind of aesthetic or have an aesthetic layout for their instagram, and in turn they'd get made fun of for being different. i never really understood what was so wrong about wanting something that was yours, meant to display you but on a different platform, being catered to your personality. sometimes it feels like people have traded all these things for simplicity but in a way, that's just conformity.

Amazing zine!!! This made me realize just how versatile zines can. Like I knew the could be abt “anything” but I never realised they could be about ANYTHING. Needless to say, I have been inspired to make my own :DDD
