Weird dream that felt like a psychological horror movie

This whole dream felt like a movie and honestly I would so watch it bc it's my kinda jam I feel:

Like 7-10 people from different backgrounds and of different ages are travelling by subway. There's some weird cryptic shit going on, they all pass out and are transported to a fever dream looking area by an unknown entity which i assume was some kind of alien representative sent to study humanity or something. I never saw the physical form of the creature so we can assume it was more of an abstract being that doesn't necessarily need a physical form to exist.

The whole area kinda looks like a low effort roblox map that is roughly populated with generic things that can be found on earth, or rather rough recreations of them, more geometric and smooth in a way, yknow. There's like houses, a road, a few "trees" and some random objects, the houses are barely furnished with things that also kinda look like furniture but mostly don't serve that function, for example smooth cabinets that can't be opened. The sky is a slightly blue-ish gray, there is no sun.

I can assume that whatever research that race was doing was in very early stages and they didn't gather enough intelligence to successfully recreate an earth environment, that's why that landscape looked so rough and unfinished.

The entity explains to the people that they are to participate in a series of experiments dubbed "the Dorothy project" in that realm, they kinda don't have a choice so they do whatever it tells them to. There appears to be no real risk to the activities, i remember one of the tasks being putting up a bunch of "bowling pins" on the road and knocking them out with "tennis balls", the other experiments were pretty much just as harmless but there was this constant eerie air of dread surrounding everything and the characters in the dream seemingly noticed it too.

Weeks go by, the people don't get tired or hungry and just keep on doing those behavioural experiments for hours on end.

An undisclosed amount of time later the entity thanks then for their cooperation and says that they can go back to their lives now and I can feel that they all think it will be very hard to readjust back to normal after just doing weird activities in this insanity inducing fever dream environment for so long, and yet they didn't go insane. I feel like there was mind control or something being used by the unknown being so the participants don't completely lose it before completing all of the tasks.

Anyway, the entity sends them back to where they were before but they quickly realised a lot more time has passed then they originally thought. It was like 15-20 years and yet none of the participants aged at all.

Imagine how fucking terrifying that is. There was a girl that I think was 12-13 years old. She goes missing for over a decade and randomly re-appears, her family and friends move on with their lives thinking she's dead. It turns out she isn't , but she comes back looking the exact same as she did all those years ago talking about weird experiments and whatever "The Dorothy project" is. All her friends she used to go to school with now are full grown adults that have jobs and maybe even children, and she realises her life just passed her by and now she has to start everything all over. She can't go back to the life she had.

To be clear that wasn't elaborated on in the dream but remember having that EXACT thought process back then.

I don't know what the goal of that entity was exactly, since the research was in its early stage they just wanted to test humanity's physical capabilities before they get into the psychology. But why? Why were they researching us in the first place? Just for the sake of knowledge? Did they want to make contact?

I have a theory that the experiments themselves weren't "The Dorothy project", but rather the aftermath of them. Maybe the Aliens wanted to test the psychological impact of an event like this on humans.

But who is "Dorothy"? Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ? That's the only Dorothy i can think of off the top of my head. Why was it called the dorothy project.

I was an observer, just watching whatever is happening which is weird because usually my dreams are in first person ans from the perspective of the characters in the dream.

Honestly I have so many questions that could so easily be answered if this was just some psychological horror film but NOOO IT WAS A FUCKING DREAM that I had so it doesn't even have to make sense by definition, BUT IT DID, AND I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH IT WAS SUPPOSED TO MEAN SOMETHING.
